          11-10南京航空航天大學周鵬教授應邀管理與經濟學院作學術報告

題 目:Optimal path for controlling CO2 emissions in China: An efficiency analysis perspective
          主講人:周鵬教授(南京航空航天大學)
          主講人簡介:
Peng Zhou (P. Zhou) is currently a professor and Assistant Dean of College of Economics and Management and Deputy Director of Research Centre for Soft Energy Science, (NUAA), China. He received his PhD in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining NUAA, Dr. Zhou was with the Energy Studies Institute at National University of Singapore as a fellow. Dr. Zhou’s primary research area is energy economics and policy. His research work has led to more than forty publications in internationally referred journals. In 2010, he was awarded the ProSPER.Net-Scopus Young Researcher Award. He is an Associate Editor of Energy Economics and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Energy Economics and Management Sub-Society under the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics.
          內容簡介:
While researchers have made substantial contributions in examining the optimal CO2 emission control, how much and how fast GHGs emissions should be reduced remain open. The purpose of this talk is to introduce how we can examine this issue from an efficiency analysis perspective. Several nonparametric efficiency models for investigating the efficient allocation of CO2 emissions under spatial, temporal and spatial-temporal allocation strategies, respectively. The models have been employed to determine the optimal path for controlling CO2 emissions at province and region levels in China. Our empirical results show that more developed regions should take emission reduction responsibility earlier than less developed regions in China. We also find that modest emission reduction policy could be more appropriate for China in order to achieve the joint goals of economic development and CO2 emission reduction.
