June 20-22, 2012, Professor Wei Yiming and Dr. MI ZhiFu, researchers of the Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center, were invited to attend the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Rio +20). This is another big event on Sustainable Development since the 1992 Rio United Nations Conference of the Environment and Development and the 2002 Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development.
The conference came to an end in Rio de Janeiro Convention and Exhibition Center in the evening of June 22. More than 100 heads of state and heads of government as well as representatives of 193 countries passed the final outcome document of the conference - "We look forward to the future" at the closing ceremony.
